Prime Minister and Senior Officials Reported to SPAK Over Elbasan Incinerator

The Democratic Party has reported Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister Arben Ahmetaj, Minister Lefter Koka and the administrator of the company, Albtek Energy for the incinerator of Elbasan to the Special Anti-Corruption Court (SPAK).

In a statement to the media, the representatives of the PD, Çlirim Gjata and Endri Hasa demanded the suspension of all the above persons.

They said that this affair is corrupt as Albtek was established three days before the opening of the Elbasan incinerator concession procedure and had a capital of just EUR 1000. Despite this, the company won the tender in a non-transparent manner, with no experience, and no capital.

Representatives of the PD claimed that all legal procedures were violated in awarding the company the tender.

They called on the SPAK to investigate the affair and bring to justice all those charged.

In June, Nisma Thurje filed a report with SPAK against the Fier incinerator. They accused the government of falsifying ownership documents for the land on which it will sit.
