Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has sacked Ibrahim Xhaka, the head of Kosovo’s customs, and Ilir Murtezai, the head of the national tax agency.
Hoti said their dismissal was recommended to him by the minister of finance. The two senior officials were respectively replaced by Bajram Rexha and Ekrem Hysenaj.
It comes a few hours after Hoti fired the chief of police, Rashit Qalaj, on Friday, over poor performance.
The government has not commented on the reasons behind the sack of three senior officials in a single day.
Opposition PDK accused the government of retaliating against Qalaj after he ordered the arrest of the deputy head of the ruling party last week over suspicions of abuse of power
