The Prosecution of Lezha has confiscated 285 sq m on the seaside zone of Rana e Hedhun in Lezha. The area, divided into 5 parcels and registered under the names of members from the Gjini, Frroku, and Tinaj family is suspected to have been acquired illegally.
The investigation of the prosecution started after the claim of a person was registered that his property had been registered in the name of others. According to the prosecution, the persons who registered the land have committed a series of legal violations: They are not part of the families that were part of the former agricultural cooperative of that area, included in the Land Law 7501/1991, and they changed the registry entry illegally from forest land – excluded from land distribution under law 7501 – into agricultural land.
The property was registered at the Asset Registry in recent month, after a decision of the Lezha Municipality to change the legal destination of the land.
