Protests against sexual violence also took place in the city of Durres and Lezhe yesterday, at the same time as the large protest in Tirana.
Following the rape of a 15-year-old girl by the school guard and three other individuals, and after the news that seven rapists would be released on probation after repeatedly abusing a minor from Kavaje, thousands of citizens took to the streets last night.
In Durres, protestors gathered in the main square, denouncing sexual violence and gender-based violence.
In Lezhe, sources told Exit that a group had gathered in the town square, including nuns from the nearby convent.
The protest was the initiative of another 15-year-old girl and it was planned via social media and word of mouth.
