Questioning of Former KLA Commander Agim Ceku Finishes at The Hague

Agim Çeku, the former commander of the KLA General Staff, was questioned on Monday at the headquarters of the Special Prosecution Office in The Hague.

His lawyer did not comment after the hearing.

He is suspected of having committed crimes against civilians during the Kosovo war.

Earlier, Ceku stated that KLA leaders did not commit crimes and that their fight for Kosovo’s independence was pure.

Since the end of the war, various war crimes allegations have been made by the KLA in Kosovo. These allegations were initially considered by the United Nations administration, UMNIK; later the EU special mission for security and justice EULEX.

In recent years, these allegations are being reviewed by the Specialized Chambers and the Special Prosecutor’s Office, otherwise known as the Kosovo Special Prosecution Office, based in The Hague.
