Rama Launches National Accountability Campaign

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today the launch of a national campaign consisting of meetings with citizens, in which he will inform them of the work that has been done during the first six months of his second term.

Starting in Tirana, Rama stated that all the country’s municipalities would be visited during the campaign, not only the most important ones.

Below, find some of Rama’s main statements during the meeting in Tirana:

We will begin the process in Tirana, where we acknowledge there is still much left to do, but only those who are unwilling to look will deny the amount of work that has already been done.

We are at a point where there is still extraordinarily much work left to do, but, compared to the Albania we used to have, we have accomplished a major goal, that of acquiring an unconditional recommendation from the European Commission for the opening of accession negotiations.

We will speak directly to citizens of all ages, we will unfold the national employment program.

Regarding the vetting process

To those who wonder how it is possible that people in the justice system that possess inordinate amounts of wealth can simply be dismissed, I say it is only the beginning.

What we expect to achieve is the construction of an independent, efficient system.
