Rama: PD, Forget about a Caretaker Government

In his weekly Facebook monologue, Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that “the PD has to forget about the caretaker government and postponing the election date. The elections belong to the people and not the parties.”

Prime Minister Rama also once again tried to open a dialogue with the opposition:

There is no way that we are going to lose time and energy on the improvised battle that the Democratic Party calls us to in vain.

My call for the PD is again: Come on! Let’s discuss and vote together any change that according to them strengthens the election law. Let’s vote together any mechanism that the Democratic Party needs to feel wtih full guarantees during the elections.

My position remains unchanged about that which is not in our hands. So, the PD has to forget about the caretaker government and postponing the election date. The elections belong to the people and not the parties. The government is elected by the people and not by the tents of the parties.

The PD immediately declared that it will not enter the [local] elections on May 7 [in Kavaja], in the city where it governed for 21 years in a row with catastrophic results. I hope that they will reconsider and not leave simple democrats without their alternative.
