Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albania will start vaccination in January.
It is not known what vaccines will be used, where they will come from, how much they will cost, and how many will be brought to Albania.
During a conference on Tuesday, Rama said he was still in talks with vaccine companies, but he added that doctors and nurses would be vaccinated in mid-January.
“We are working hard for the vaccine. The overall situation is very significant in terms of the situation in Europe as well. Meanwhile, what has happened at the European level, the whole first batch of available doses has been divided between EU countries and in the meantime, the countries are left to negotiate with other countries or parties what they will separate from their package.
We will start vaccination within January. We will start with doctors and nurses in mid-January and continue with vulnerable groups.”
