Today Prime Minister Edi Rama made a visit to the High School of the Arts (Liceu Artistik) in Tirana. During a conversation with students and teachers, one of the students raised up two fingers – a sign commonly associated with “victory,” as well as with the opposition Democratic Party – while the Prime Minister was speaking.
Annoyed by this gesture, the Prime Minister interrupted his speech and turned toward the student with the following words:
Hey, leave those two fingers, hey leave it… Keep your five fingers because you need them to play piano, don’t separate them from each other. You put your head down and raise your two fingers, think about it. While you need to keep your head up and your fingers together. Whatever…
After the meeting had ended, the Prime Minister didn’t forget the student’s action and left the teacher with the following “advice”:
Take care for me for the one with the two fingers because there’s a big chance that it’s a misunderstood genius.
