A parliamentary resolution condemning a statement by Kosovo’s Serb List (SL) party in support of Serbia in the dialogue with Kosovo has failed to pass.
The resolution was proposed by Speaker of Parliament Vjosa Osmani, following a statement by SL that vowed to support Vucic in the “fight” for Kosovo.
“Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija will consistently adhere to all epidemiological measures prescribed by the Serbian Government and support President Vucic in the upcoming political and diplomatic fight for Kosovo and Metohija,” an announcement on the party’s Facebook account read on Tuesday.
The resolution proposed by Osmani reconfirmed the inviolability of Kosovo’s sovereignty and integrity, while it condemned any support for Serbia against Kosovo’s constitutional order.
It also called on the government not to allow its members to support Serbia against Kosovo in the dialogue, and urged it to dismiss such members.
SL MP Igoc Simic reminded Osmani that her party LDK took power only due to their votes.
The Serb List party represents Serbian ethnic minority in Kosovo, and it’s allegedly controlled by Belgrade.
It is part of the current Kosovo government voted in with the minimum 61 votes in the 120-seat parliament. 10 of the 61 votes came from the Serb List, which now leads 2 of the 16 ministries of Avdullah Hoti’s government. Its leader Goran Rakic is deputy prime minister.
