Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will award U.S. President Donald Trump the country’s highest award for brokering a deal between Kosovo and Serbia to normalize economic ties, Reuters has reported.
Trump will receive Kosovo’s Medal of the Order of Freedom, according to a letter sent him by Thaci, and seen by Reuters.
Thaci reportedly expressed his “profound gratitude for [Trump’s] personal contribution in brokering the agreement,” and invited him to visit Kosovo.
Trump’s national security adviser Robert O’Brien and envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Richard Grenell will receive the Presidential Medal of Merits.
On September 4, Kosovo and Serbia signed separate pledges in the Oval Office on several topics, many related to the economy.
