Salih Mustafa to be Detained in Prison due to Flight Risk

The Special Court for War Crimes in Kosovo, based in The Hague, will give today (September 28) the measure of arrest in prison, for Salih Mustafa, former head of the KSF intelligence and former superior of the KLA.

He was arrested on 24 September by EULEX on charges of arbitrary detention, cruel treatment, torture of at least six persons, and the murder of one of them, between 1 April and 19 April 1999, in Zllash, Kosovo. EULEX police stormed the headquarters of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Association on Friday.

Mustafa has 30 days to appeal the decision of the Special Court. The lawyer accredited by the Special Forces, Taulant Hodaj, told Koha.net that the court imposes arrest in prison only for persons suspected of being able to escape.
