Serbia is ranked second in Europe for the fastest rollout of its COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
Data published by Our World in Data put Serbia right after the United Kingdom in terms people vaccinated per million inhabitants.
The United Kingdom, which started vaccination earlier than Serbia, has vaccinated 11.67 percent of the population with at least one dose.
As of January 27, more than 375,000 people or 5.32 percent of Serbia’s population have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Malta, Iceland, Denmark, Romania, Slovenia and Spain follow in the ranking.
Serbia is administering at least three vaccines – Pfizer/BioNtech, Sputnik V and Sinopharm.
It was one the first countries to sign a contract with Pfizer, the first in Europe to use the Chinese and the Russian (together with Belarus) vaccines.
