Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has stated that his words about a potential armed conflict with Kosovo were misunderstood.
On Friday, Vučić said that an armed conflict is not desirable for either side, and should be avoided at all costs. local media reported.
“My statement was precise and clear. I said that we should avoid a policy of frozen conflict, and that a frozen conflict could lead to a conflict in the future, which no one would want to happen,” he reportedly said.
One day earlier, Vučić seemed to suggest that Serbia and Kosovo were in a frozen conflict similar to that between Armenia and Azerbaijan, prompting alarm amidst Kosovo leaders, whose calls for condemnation of the Serbian president’s implied threat the EU and NATO ignored.
