Six People Fined for Trying to Travel Back to UK Without Quarantining

Police at the Mother Theresa Airport in Rinas have fined six people for violating the mandatory quarantine for all of those travelling from the UK.

The individuals had travelled from the UK, remained in Albania and then tried to leave before the 14 days had passed.

They were fined 700,000 ALL or (EUR 5651) each.

On 22 December, the Ministry of Health announced that all flights to the UK were suspended until 6 January. Anyone travelling from the UK must self-isolate in one place for 14 days. This was due to the discovery of the new variant strain of COVID-19 in Britain.
