Socialist Party Elects New Political Leaders in Albanian Districts

The Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party elected the leaders of several districts yesterday.

Tirana will be headed by the mayor Erion Veliaj, the state minister Elisa Spiropali and the deputy Ervin Bushati.

Meanwhile, Durrës will be headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Kukes will be led by Safet Gjici and Lindita Nikolla will replace Sander Lleshaj in Lezha.

The former Minister of Health Ilir Beqja will be the leader of the Socialist Party in Shkodra.

Other county leaders are:

– Olta Xhaçka has been appointed political leader in the Dibra region

– Taulant Balla has been appointed political leader in the region of Elbasan

-Gramoz Ruçi has been appointed political leader in the region of Fier

– Damian Gjiknuri has been appointed political leader in the district of Vlora

– Niko Peleshi has been appointed political leader in the Korça region

– Bledi Çuçi has been appointed political leader in the Gjirokastra region.

The Democratic Party reacted by mentioning numerous scandals linked to those involved. These include the demolition of the National Theatre, corruption in customs and with building permits, the higher education law and subsequent student protests, vote buying, the fraudulent Ring Road tender, and the controversial food tender during the pandemic.
