Socialist second-in-command Tauland Balla has warned that his party could soon propose a new “special” law to “regulate” the Office of the President.
“The time has come to regulate – and we are actually late, very late – in the same way that we have regulated by special laws the functioning of many institutions, to also regulate the functioning and organization of the institution of the President of the Republic with a law as in any country in the world that provides even for cases when the President of the Republic takes the pulpit and uses it for an internal opposition race,” Balla said.
Balla’s announcement came after President Meta drew large crowds on Monday to demand an end to what he calls a “coup d’etat” by the current Rama government.
