Over 100 employees of the state oil company Albpetrol held a protest in front of the company’s offices in Fier. They claim that, for the past three months, they were paid less than half their monthly salaries.
Employees also claim that this is not the first time the company fails to pay them. The company’s financial director told employees that he “had to fight” in order to give them the wages they are entitled to.
Former Democratic Luan Baçi claimed that Albpetrol allegedly kept paying its executives during the quarantine, even as its employees saw their wages cut down to the legal minimum wage of less than €210.
