A study conducted by the Centre of Integrated Legal Services and Practices that included 800 people has found that a significant part of Albanian employees (60.9%) experience workplace-related stress.
The study was focused on Tirana-based employees and found that around half (48.5%) experienced moderate levels of stress whereas 12.4% experienced high-stress levels. Women seem to experience more moderate stress than men (51.5% vs. 43.3%), however, there was no significant gender difference when it came to high levels of stress.
Factors that affect workplace stress include time pressure, unclear duties, lack of promotions, difficulty in delegating duties, lack of teamwork, lack of participation in decision making, unequal treatment, and low pay.
