Today’s Protest Comes to an End, Next One to Take Place May 20

The anti-government protest led by the Alliance for the National Theatre has come to an end after two and a half hours. The protest began at 4:30 pm and brought together actors, civil society activists, and regular Tirana citizens.

Opposition leaders like the head of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha, and the head of the Socialist Movement for Integration Monika Kryemadhi, were also present at the protest.

The Alliance announced that another protest would be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 5:30 pm. Director Robert Budina said that citizen resistance would persist until Prime Minister Edi Rama and Tirana mayor Erion Veliaj were brought to justice.
