The trial against two former Kosovo Liberation Leaders (KLA) Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj is set to start soon, following the assignment of a panel of judges on Friday.
The President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC), Ekaterina Trendafilova assigned Judges Charles Smith III, Christoph Barthe, Guénaël Mettraux and Fergal Gaynor (reserve) to the trial panel.
It follows the completion by prosecutors of the case file against Gucati and Haradinaj in pre-trial. The file will now be transmitted to the newly established trial panel, who will set a time limit for motions to be filed by parties prior to the opening of the trial.
Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj are accused of revealing without authorization information protected under the law of the KSC. In September 202, their office of war veterans anonymously received investigation files leaked from the KSC and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office.
