Judicial Watch, an independent conservative government watchdog group, has filed a lawsuit against the Department of State and USAID under the Law for the Right of Information in order to secure “all documents and communications regarding gifts, contracts, and financial transactions from the Department of State to Soros Foundation or any of its branches,” as well as “the recordings of all communications between every official, employee or representatives of the Department of State and every official, employee or representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).”
The organization also wants to know why President Trump has not yet replaced the Ambassador in Macedonia appointed by President Obama, Jess L.Baily.
According to the watchdog organization, around $5 million of American taxpayer money has gone to finance the “Soros army” which is destabilizing the political system in Macedonia.
Judicial Watch president, Tom Fitton, stated that the Obama administration has used the budget of taxpayers to finance the operations of Soros. Trump’s US State Department and USAID should put things in place and should make public the details of the Obama–Soros connection.
According to Judicial Watch, in the period 2012–2016, USAID has allocated $4.8 million to the Soros Foundation in Macedonia. The USAID website in Macedonia has connections with the Soros Foundation website where it is stated that the money was used in the training of hundreds of Macedonian youth around topics of freedom of organization, youth policies, civic initiatives, usage of media, etc.
The organization accuses the Department of State destabilizing Macedonia on the orders George Soros. In a public announcement Judicial Watch states:
The documents we have provided show that the American government has secretly spent millions US taxpayers dollars to destabilize the democratically elect center-right government in Macedonia in a secret agreement with billionaire philanthropist, George Soros.
Barack Obama’s Ambassador in Macedonia Jess Baily worked behind the scenes with the Open Society Foundation of Soros to allocate huge sums of American dollars for this cause, which constitutes an interference with internal affairs, in violation with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
The documents of Judicial Watch show that Soros Foundation in Macedonia has used the same scheme it uses all around the globe: founding and financing dozens of left-wing non-governmental organization which organize youth movements, creating media channels, and organizing protests to erode the institutions and policies that contradict the vision and aims of Soros.
The support of the Embassy and USAID mission in Macedonia has become a hot topic in the USA, when it was discovered that these institutions have acted in coordination with Soros Foundation in Macedonia to affect Macedonian politics, allegedly according to Soros’s preferences.
