The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has delivered 29,000 COVID-19 test kits to Albania’s Institute of Public Health.
USAID and the US Embassy announced that the US government has committed more than $1.5 billion in assistance aimed at fighting the pandemic.
“29,000 test kits funded by the US government have been delivered to the Institute of Public Health. These testing kits are part of US assistance to Albania in response to COVID-19 pandemic. Working with the Albania Ministry of Health and Social Protection, USAID delivered these test kits to help expand case finding and event-based surveillance. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the U.S. Government has committed more than $1.5 billion in State Department and USAID assistance specifically aimed at fighting the pandemic,” the USAID stated in their post.
Albania has registered 146 deaths and 4880 COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
