Vetevendosje Accuses Albania’s Main Parties of Collaborating to Tamper with Votes

On Tuesday, the Albanian branch of Kosovo’s Vetevendosje party posted a video allegedly showing members of a ballot counting team in Tepelena filling in ballot papers one day after the April 25 elections.

The video recording was handed by the Central Election Commission to Kreshnik Merxhani, one of the three independent candidates supported by Vetevendosje, upon his request.

Vetevendosje said the whole counting team – composed of representatives of the 3 largest parties: PS, PD, LSI – were openly involved in the electoral crime in this ballot counting center.

They had reported the same case on the same day when it happened, but through a cell phone video-recording. This one from CEC was included in their complaint filed with the institution on Monday.

“We demand immediate administrative measures by the CEC, and an immediate prosecution of this case,” they stated in their post today, adding that repeat elections are needed.
