The results of the partial recount of 64 ballot boxes from the County of Tirana have shown that all major parties have systematically stolen votes from smaller parties, such as LIBRA and SFIDA. From the 57 ballot boxes that had incorrect vote counts reported by their Vote Counting Groups (GNV), the vote counters of the PS, PD, LSI, and PDIU “miscounted” 294 votes in total.
A video published yesterday evening by the TV program “Të Paekspozuarit” shows how from 7 different ballot boxes, 40 votes of Ben Blushi’s party LIBRA are counted as votes for one of the major parties. As is clear from the footage, the vote counters hide the LIBRA votes with their fingers.
Although LIBRA had publicly complained about these practices, the KQZ only gave a brief window for the political parties to lodge complaints against the final vote counts, resulting in LIBRA’s complaint not being accepted within the set deadline.
On Wednesday, Blushi announced that he filed a criminal lawsuit against the GNV that miscounted the LIBRA votes for falsification of voting materials and election results.
All official institutions that deal with the elections, from the KQZ to the GNV, are dominated by the major parties in Parliament. The GNV consisted of four members: 1 from the PS, 1 from the PD, 1 from the PR, and 1 from the LSI or PDIU.
