Economy Committee Postpones Vote on AMF Director

The parliamentary Economy & Finance Committee has postponed the vote on the dismissal of Financial Oversight Authority (AMF) director Enkeleda Shehi, which should have taken place today. Owing to the absence of committee members of the LSI and PD, the necessary quorum was not reached.

The dismissal of Shehi was requested by the AMF board. In a letter sent to the Economy & Finance Committee, the board writes that Shehi did not implement parliamentary resolutions and had violated a series of other regulations.

Enkeleda Shehi, the wife of LZhK leader and deputy Dashamir Shehi, has been Director of the AMF since she was nominated to the post by Parliament in 2014. Previously she was also deputy chair and chair of the AMF board.
