Exit is controlled by the Exit Media Foundation, a non-profit entity registered in Albania.

Exit’s income in the past two years has come from the following sources, listed in order of size: Grants from third parties (Open Democracy, European Fund for the Western Balkans, Konrad Adenaur Stiftung, EU Journalism Fund, IWMF, Albanian Media Authority, Lumo Skendo Institute), funding from other projects such as translation, and fundraising through platforms like PayPal, Patreon, and Ko-Fi.
