Ramush Haradinaj will be the candidate for prime minister of the coalition between the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and the Initiative for Kosovo.
Another coalition registered for the June 11 snap elections is the one between the party of former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Behgjet Pacolli’s party, the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), and the new Alternative Party of Mimoza Kusari-Lila.
Former Prime Minister Mustafa decided not to be part of the candidate list. Avdullah Hoti, the current Minister of Finance, is the candidate for prime minister of this coalition. The Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosja), which will run alone in the election, proposes Albin Kurti as prime minister.
Prime Minister Isa Mustafa’s government collapsed a week ago through a vote of no confidence after two and a half years of ruling the coalition between the LDK and PDK. A majority of 78 deputies voted in favor of the government’s downfall, including deputies from the PDK.
