Rama: Recognition of Kosovo Easier Said than Done

In an interview with the Serbian newspaper Blic, Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to the recent declarations of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that he would be ready to resolve the “Kosovo issue.”

Praising the Vučić’s initiative to “confront the past frontally and unconventionally,” the Prime Minister claimed that the solution to the Kosovo issue would be full recognition by Serbia:

Full recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by Serbia! But I know this is easier said than done when you put yourself in Aleksandar’s shoes. So actually the solution is that we have work strongly together.

Prime Minister Rama also called Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić’s idea that northern Kosovo would join Serbia and the Presheva valley would be added to Kosovo an “unconventional proposal.”
