Albanian Police Issues €45,000 in Fines to Wedding Venues

The owners of five bar/restaurants have been fined around EUR 9000 this weekend following violations of the normative act banning gatherings and festivities due to COVID-19.

Police in Shkodra fined one owner EUR 9000 after he organised a wedding inside his venue. The manager of the bar is also under investigation after he tried to close the door when he saw the police approaching. They are accused of disobeying a police officer.

Four bars in Korce and Pogradec were also fined after they were found hosting festive ceremonies.

The Albanian government banned weddings and gatherings in restaurants and bars as a measure against the spread of COVID-19.
