The companies iC Consulenten Ziviltechniker, ELEA iC and IBE, SEED Consulting shpk and InfraKonsult shpk are the winners of the tender for the design of the Llogara tunnel.
The decision came a day after Minister Balluku announced that two project proposals had been qualified, between which the jury would select the winner.
The government opened international tender in June for the design of Llogara Tunnel engineering project. The tendering process for the construction of the tunnel will take place within this year.
As Exit News previously wrote, the Llogara Tunnel construction study will be funded by the government at a total cost of EUR 6.3 million. Users of the road will pay a fixed fee to use it.
The 6-kilometre-long tunnel is expected to shorten the Orikum-Palas axis to 10 minutes. It will mean that road users no longer need to cross the Llogara Pass to reach the Albanian Riviera.
