Just a few days remaining before elections on April 25, the political parties and their MP candidates continued their electoral meetings in several cities of Albania. Exit brings you a roundup of the key promises and comments made during yesterday’s meetings.
Socialist Party (PS)
- Political Leader of Elbasan, Taulant Balla held a meeting with residents in Labinot Mal on Wednesday. Balla said that PS will invest and develop this area.
- Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, along with Prime Minister Edi Rama and MP Debar Pellumb stated that on April 26th the country will return to normality.
- MPs candidates in Durres met residents of Sukth.
- PM Edi Rama was in the Fushë Krujë. He said that investments made in Fushë Krujë make all the difference. The tourist port in Durres would also transform Fushë Krujë and promote agro-tourism.
- Political leader of Vlora, Damian Gjiknuri held meetings with residents of Regions 1 and 5 in Vlora where he also visited businesses operating in these areas.
Democratic Party (PD)
- MP Candidate in Tirana Flamur Noka held meetings with residents of Kamza, Paskuqan, Vore, Zallher.
- MP Candidate Jorida Tabaku was in Sauk, Tirana and held a meeting with hundreds of citizens. Tabaku said that people of this area have suffered a lot over the last 8 years and they need to trust PD’s program for change.
- MPs Candidates in Shkodra held a meeting with political persecutors. They said that they will decently represent them in parliament.
- Orjola Pampuri declared that PS electoral office in Krrabe has violated the Electoral Code because they are very close to the polling station. The law prohibits the opening of 300-meter electoral offices near polling stations.
- Alfred Rushaj spoke about the legalization scandal. He said that Rama has decided to destroy 100,000 houses.
Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI)
- Chairwoman of LSI, Monika Kryemadhi met MPs candidates in Elbasan. She said that citizens look forward to voting on April 25th.
- Vangjel Tavo rebuked the government for imposing a mandatory two-week quarantine on those entering the country from Greece and Northern Macedonia by not allowing them to vote.
- Luan Rama urged the Prosecution to find out the truth and enforce the law, in which LSI members, sympathizers, and voters have been provoked and blackmailed.
Nisma Thurrje (NT)
- Political party Nisma Thurrje presented their proposed law on Hospital and Public Health, called “You’re Not Alone”. Dedicated health services for persons of retirement age, disabled persons, miners, and oil workers were included in the proposals.
- MP Candidate of Tirana, Elton Canaj also introduced another bill “Solidarity Society”. It includes accessibility of public building by persons with disabilities. It also states that public transport must be accessible to persons with disabilities, otherwise the respective companies lose their transport license.
Vetevendosje (VV)
- MP Candidates and LVV activists condemned the violence in Elbasan. They said that the election campaign shouldn’t be a black chronicle of news and people should distance themselves from this violence of old politics.
- MP Candidate in Tirana, Boiken Abazi said that Tirana must be protected at all costs from concreting, construction without criteria, destruction of public places, and cultural heritage. He spoke of the necessity of stopping this urban crime.
- MP candidate in Gjirokaster Kreshnik Merxhani during a media conference said no to waste and the construction of dams.
Independent Candidate
- Independent Candidate for Dibra, Elton Debreshi held a meeting with citizens in Peshkopi, where he talked about miners, unemployed women, farmers who have nowhere to sell their produce, and workers who are trampled on across Albania.
