21 KZAZs Still without Voting Center Commissions

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) released a second appeal to the political parties to nominate members of the Voting Center Commissions (KQV) at the 21 Election Administration Zone Commissions (KZAZ) which still have not received those.

Each KZAZ comprises several voting centers (QV), which are each headed by a KQV. Whereas the KZAZ oversees the vote counting, the KQV supervises the voting procedures in the voting centers. All KQV members need to be trained by the KQZ in the proper procedures of administering the vote. With only two days left and still hundreds of KQV members to be trained, this poses a serious threat to the professionalism of the KQVs, which have to guarantee the freedom, secrecy, and equality of the vote.

Voting Center Commissions are lacking in all the major voting areas, including Shkodra, Lezha, Elbasan, Durrës, Tirana, Fier, and Korça.
