A 12-year-old girl has reported her stepfather to the police for sexual abuse.
The minor stated that the abuse started when she was nine years old but she was only able to report him in January of this year. She told her aunt first and then her mother.
Immediately following the report, the police arrested the 39-year-old man who was in a relationship with her mother. He denied the charges and said he was not aware of his actions. He claimed he was not fully awake and the girl looked like his wife.
The girl’s mother claimed he had been physically and verbally abusive to her on several occasions.
The court has placed him under prison arrest and he is charged with raping a minor.
