CDU / CSU rapporteur for the Western Balkan countries in the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Christian Schmidt, has stated that the administrative and legal procedure used to demolish the National Theater raises many questions.
“I would like to have the impression that Albania was making a lot of efforts with the rule of law before the opening of EU membership negotiations,” said Schmidt.
“Especially with a prime minister with artistic inclinations like Edi Rama, I thought that preserving the National Theater, and above all the rule of law, would be a major concern for him.” – he concluded.
