51 local leaders of organizations within the Korça branch of the Democratic Party (PD) resigned their posts today.
Those who resigned sent an open letter to media on Monday, condemning PD leader Lulzim Basha and stating that he is using the party to serve his own interests.
“With his actions, Mr. Basha has thrown away all our efforts and sacrifices,” says the letter.
They also mentioned they will remain members of the PD, despite their resignation.
Two weeks ago, 13 members of PD’s leadership in Korça also resigned their posts, shortly after the PD elected a new National Council.
