More than half of the reported coronavirus infected cases in Albania have now recovered.
The Institute of Public Health (IShP) announced today that 422 people out of the 736 total infected cases found, or 57.3%, have recovered.
In the most affected cities, like Tirana, Shkodra, Durrës and Fier, more than half of the infected have recovered, whereas in cities like Kruja and Kurbin, who have seen a surge in new confirmed infected cases during the past two weeks, the number of active cases remains high.
Meanwhile, in Lezha, Rrogozhina, and Tropoja, all those infected have recovered.
As of April 27, the geographical distribution of infected cases and the percentage of those who have recovered is as follows:
– Tirana: 302 infected cases, 187 (62%) of whom have recovered.
– Shkodra: 105 infected cases, 61 (58%) of whom have recovered
– Kruja: 92 infected cases, 8 (9%) of whom have recovered.
– Durrës: 42 infected cases, 37 (88%) of whom have recovered.
– Fier: 37 infected cases, 27 (73%) of whom have recovered.
– Kurbin: 31 infected cases, none of whom have recovered.
– Korça: 19 infected cases, 18 (95%) of whom have recovered.
– Elbasan: 18 infected cases, 15 (83%) of whom have recovered.
– Kukës: 18 infected cases, 10 (55%) of whom have recovered.
– Lezha: 14 infected cases, 14 (100%) of whom have recovered.
– Has: 14 infected cases, 12 (85%) of whom have recovered.
– Kavaja: 9 infected cases, 8 (89%) of whom have recovered.
– Lushnja: 7 infected cases, 4 (57%) of whom have recovered.
– Vlora: 5 infected cases, 4 (80%) of whom have recovered.
– Puka: 5 infected cases, 4 (80%) of whom have recovered.
– Mirdita: 5 infected cases, 3 (60%) of whom have recovered.
– Rrogozhina: 4 infected cases, 4 (100%) of whom have recovered.
– Tropoja: 4 infected cases, 4 (100%) of whom have recovered.
– Berat: 3 infected cases, 2 (66%) of whom have recovered.
– Mallakastra: 1 infected case who has not recovered yet.
– Mat: 1 infected case who has not recovered yet.
