The vaccination of 60 doctors and nurses has commenced in Albania today.
Those who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine include field epidemiologists working in Tirana, Durres and Kruja.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu, and Chief of Epidemiology at the Insitute of Public Health Silva Bino visited the vaccination station located at the Air Albania Stadium.
Bino said that so far all doses of the vaccination have been well managed. Each vial contains six doses and these must be used within two hours of opening. She added that none of those injected yesterday or today have experienced any side effects or adverse reactions.
She added that elderly people in residential homes will soon receive the vaccine.
This is the second day of vaccination in Albania. Yesterday, Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Chief of Infectious Diseases at QSUT Najada Como and medical staff from the COVID-19 hospitals received the vaccine.
