On Friday, Kosovo reported 15 deaths of patients infected with COVID-19, following yesterday’s record of 16 deaths. The death toll has reached 227.
226 people tested positive today, about 50 percent of the 459 tests administered.
The number of total tests administered in Kosovo is 36,509.
The country has reported a total of 8,330 COVID-19 cases.
4,578 people have recovered and 3,525 remain active cases.
Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti visited Pristina’s main hospital today, where he thanked the medical staff for their dedication to help patients. Hoti warned the public that “the situation is grave” and urged them to wear masks.
Minister of Health Armend Zemaj called for the serious situation with the coronavirus not to be used for political gains.
The daily death toll and number of new cases has kept increasing almost steadily since the Hoti Government took power on 3 June 2020.
