Police in Pogradec have detained a 24-year-old Albanian for transporting seven illegal immigrants.
According to information from the police, he was arrested for providing assistance to foreign national in helping them cross the border illegally, in exchange for money.

The Korca Police Department in collaboration with the Border Police, the Traffic Police, and the Police Commissariat in Pogradec made the arrests as a part of operation “Permiter” which has seen a number of individuals arrested over the last month.
The individual was caught near the village of Memlisht, Pogradec with seven immigrants in his car. He had promised them passage to an EU country in return for money. The evidence was handed over to the Pogradec Prosecutor’s Office with charges of “assistance in illegal border crossing”.
