Albania Coronavirus Update 8 August: 4 Dead, 124 New Cases

4 people infected with Covid-19 have died in Albania in the last 24 hours. A 50-year old, a 76-year old, and a 75-year old from Tirana, as well as a 76-year old from Shkodra succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of victims to 193.

124 new cases have been found, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 6275, the Ministry of Health reported.

The new cases were found in Tirana (33), Elbasan (19), Mirdita (9), Lushnja (8), Fier (7), Kruja (7), Korça (6), Shkodra (4), Durrës (4), Vlora (4), Divjaka (4), Tropoja (3), Kurbin (2), Lezha (2), Puka (2), Kavaja (1), Kamza (1), Pogradec (1), Tepelena (1), Fushë-Arrëz (1), Dibra (1), Malësi e Madhe (1), Vora (1), Maliq (1), and Patos (1).

41 people have recovered, bringing the total to 3268.

2814 cases are still active in the country, about half of them in Tirana.

Over 45,000 people have been tested since March, including serological (antibody) tests.

There are currently 116 patients hospitalized with the virus, 18 are in intensive care, 4 are intubated in aggravated condition.
