A three-year-old boy has passed away after he was not allowed to travel abroad to treat a heart problem
He was admitted to the hospital a few days before and was then moved to intensive care. It was reported that he had been suffering from a heart condition for some time. His condition could not be treated locally and he required urgent treatment in Italy.
The child’s parents told the media that the Albanian State refused to send him abroad for a life-saving transplant. As a result of their refusal, his health deteriorated and he died yesterday afternoon.
So far, there has been no institutional response from the authorities.
