The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Albania has signed an agreement to deliver medical services from the Qatar Charity to the Albanian Ministry of Health.
A number of modern and high-quality medical devices were delivered to the University Hospital Centre “Mother Theresa” to help the country fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The agreement and delivery was made in the presence of the Albanian deputy minister of health Mira Rakacolli and the Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar, Nada Abdulrahman Al Sayed.
Rakacolli expressed thanks and appreciation to Qatar for its support to Albania, noting that the devices will increase the capabilities of the national health system and improve the level of medical services to citizens.
Al Sayed said the donation was a part of a series of assistance provided by Qatar to Albania and that they hoped to develop bilateral relations and further opportunities for joint cooperation.
Qatar also pledged EUR 5 million to help Albania recover from the November earthquake that killed 51 people and left thousands homeless.
