The director of COVID 2 hospital, ‘Shefqet Ndroqi’, professor Perlat Kapisyzi has emphasized the importance of masks to reduce the spread of the infection.
“In the absence of a cure and vaccine, wearing a mask helps protect yourself and others. We keep the mask and save lives”, said doctor Kapisyzi.
He explained that the virus has increased its infectivity and aggressiveness:
“The Sars-COV2 virus has undergone a genetic mutation where one of the most important is D614G, this mutation has made the virus more contagious, increasing the viral load. Already many studies have proven that the higher the viral load the higher the morbidity and mortality. The virus has become more aggressive.”
