The home of Albanian journalist Elidon Ndreka was targeted by a bomb last night.
At around 12:30 am, a number of explosives believed to be Tritol were placed at the entrance to his home. It detonated but thankfully only caused material damage and did not harm anyone.
Ndreka, a journalist with News24 and living in Lezhe said he does not know who could be behind the attack. He claims to have no conflicts with anyone and the only reason he can think of for the attack is his work as a journalist.
He told the media :
“Last night around 12:30 in the morning there was an explosion near the gate of my apartment. A trityl explosion, according to police experts, caused only material damage to the gate of the apartment.
I do not know how to point a finger at a person but I hope that the police and the judiciary will work to find out who did this.
My parents are old, they are both professionals, I have been practising the profession of journalist for years, the only indication may be the work I do, but I do not know how to point the finger, because every day I am in the field. “
