Police made several arrests over the weekend for transporting third-country citizens illegally through the country.
A 33-year-old was arrested in Elbasan for transporting 12 immigrants. He had charged them EUR 100 each to transport them to Tirana, from Korca. After a short stop in Tirana, they would be transported onwards with an EU Member State as a final destination.
The individual, resident in Vlora was caught by the police on the Librazhd-Elbasan road.
Another individual, a 30-year-old from Korca was arrested by the police near Pogradec for transporting four immigrants for EUR 200 each.
An 18-year-old from Rrogozhina was caught near Pogradec for transporting three immigrants for EUR 150 each.
