Student Protest Against Online Learning for Third Day

On Wednesday, dozens of students are protesting for the third day in a row against their university studies being moved online.

With slogans in hand in front of the Ministry of Education, students are demanding that the government reconsider the decision. They say online learning is not working and that COVID-19 is not dangerous enough to warrant this decision.

The students also say they spent money on dormitory and rent payments because the government had not made a decision on tuition until the last minute.

In a letter to the Minister of Health Manastirliu and the Committee of Experts, the students asked the government:

  • To alternate teaching- online lectures, while seminars in the auditorium;
  • Reimbursement of dormitory and rent payments;
  • Free and dedicated internet packages for students;
  • Providing the necessary technological equipment for students who do not have access to online learning.
