Police in Gjirokaster have arrested two people for transporting third-country nationals through Albania.
The two men, aged 18 and 19 were arrested on the Kakavija-Gjirokaster road. They had five immigrants with them who they had promised transit to Tirana and then onwards to an EU country, in return for money.
Seized at the scene was around EUR 850 in cash, two vehicles, and two mobile phones. The matter will be investigated further by the Gjirokaster prosecutor’s office.
