The Special Court Against Corruption and Organised Crime (SPAK) has sentenced Wilson Memini to 120 hours of community service.
He was found guilty of “active corruption of persons exercising public office” for trying to bribe a police officer with 1000 ALL (EUR 8).
SPAK was set up to investigate and prosecute corruption in politics, organized crime, and government institutions. To date, it has not prosecuted or convicted a single official or politician despite a growing number of cases.
