Turkey and Albania discussed possible cooperation in the defense industry on the second day of visit to Ankara by an Albanian delegation headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Vice President Fuat Oktay accompanied the Albanian delegation during a visit to the Turkish Presidency of Defense Industries, the government branch managing the country’s defense industry.
Oktay said they presented the Albanian delegation with Turkey’s defense technology, experience and potential, and gathered information on defense projects Albania is interested in.
They then visited ASELSAN, Turkey’s defense corporation engaged in research and manufacturing of military technologies and arms.
The Vice President highlighted that many of the products and technologies can also be used for civil purposes.
Prime Minister Edi Rama applauded Turkey’s progress in the defense area.
“What this country has done is truly amazing,” he said after the visit, Anadolu Agency reported.
The governments of the two NATO members signed 5 agreements in different areas during the Albanian delegation’s two-day visit in Turkey at the invitation of President Erdogan.
